Overview
Notta Input is designed as a local-first Mac input utility for voice typing and screenshots. The app does not collect personal data, does not require an account, does not use advertising, and does not track users across apps or websites.
Audio and Transcription
Microphone audio is captured only when you start dictation. Speech recognition runs locally on your Mac using a bundled on-device ASR model. Audio and transcribed text are not uploaded to Notta Input servers or third-party transcription services.
Accessibility Permission
Accessibility access is used only to handle configured global shortcuts, type transcribed text into the currently focused text field, and handle Return while dictation is active. Notta Input does not read your screen contents, record keystrokes, or monitor your activity outside the explicit input workflows you start.
Screen Recording Permission
Screen Recording permission may be requested by macOS when you use the screenshot tool. It is used only to capture the screen area you select. Screenshots are copied to the clipboard or saved locally when you choose those actions. Screenshots are not uploaded by the app.
Plans and Purchases
The free version includes 10 minutes of local voice input per day with default shortcuts. Pro unlocks unlimited daily dictation, custom dictation and screenshot shortcuts, and a custom status position. Purchase status may be handled by Apple through the App Store. Notta Input does not receive payment card information.
Diagnostics
The app may write local diagnostic logs inside its app container to help troubleshoot shortcut timing, recognition timing, insertion behavior, screenshot actions, and errors. These logs remain on your Mac and are not transmitted by the app. Diagnostic logs do not include transcript text, raw audio, screenshots, screen contents, window titles, or ordinary key contents.
Data Collection
Notta Input does not collect data from this app. Audio, transcription text, screenshots, and diagnostic logs are processed or stored locally and are not sent by the app to external servers.
